Dogan Fundraiser Tonight

By Antonio D. French

Filed Friday, January 25, 2008 at 1:42 PM

State representative candidate Shamed Dogan, a Republican running in the south St. Louis County district being vacated by Neal St. Onge, is holding a fundraiser tonight at 6:00 PM at Mandarin, 44 Maryland Plaza, in the Central West End.

For your $25 ticket, you will receive two free drinks during the event, and Mandarin is offering specials for those who hang out afterwards.

That's a great 8th grade picture of Dogan.

I believe Don Calloway (Dem candidate for state rep in District 71 who appeared with Chris Koster in a photo that was the subject of a pubdef caption contest for which no winner was ever announced) is listed on Republican Dogan's host committee.

Dogan would be the second African American Republican to represent this mostly white Ballwin based district (and its predecessors). Steve Banton repped the district in the 80s.

yes Oracle, that's the same Don Calloway. He and Dogan are pals, Dogan was on Calloway's host committee as well. Two twenty-something African American males running for the state house; not an every cycle thing. Three if you bring in Chris Carter in 61. I have no problem with the young brothers supporting each other across party lines. Remember; Calloway and Dogan are both in safe districts for their respective parties, therefore if there is no general, why not build alliances? Good move for Don and Shamed.
