The Citizens to Support Fire Chief George have harsh words for some elected officials and public figures.
"You have betrayed us," group chairman Rev. Douglas Parham said of State Senator Jeff Smith.
The attack came on reports that Smith and several other officials – including Urban League CEO Jim Buford, Committeeman Claude Brown, and John Motten of the Black Leadership Roundtable – were working with Mayor Francis Slay on a task force to address racial diversity.
In a press conference at City Hall today, Parham called the idea a "farce," saying the group would be made up of Slay's cronies and it would not make progress.
"He is trying to use black leaders to camouflage his racism and utter disregard for the black community" said Parham.
The task force has not yet been formed, and when asked about rumors that it was never planned, Parham said that means his group has already crushed the idea.
Parnham was joined by State Representative Jamilah Nasheed, who called for Mayor Slay's recall. The Citizens to Support Fire Chief George support recall efforts.

Mayor Slay has done things that have hurt the City of St. Louis. When our schools were 2 points away from full accreditation, he worked to have our schools put under state control. He has done and is still doing things that disregard the will of the voters of this city. I want to see Slay gone from office. However, for those who want to recall Mayor Slay, it is important not to let this be a black vs. white issue.
St. Louis City has a predominately black population, but there are white parents also who have been hurt by the state takeover and other policies put forth by Mayor Slay. It is a huge mistake to make this a black/white issue. We (black and white parents and other citizens) will stand together or fall apart. I am black, and I don't want to see a black controlled city or a white controlled city. I want to see a Mayor who respects all citizens and works to see that our schools and all our neighborhoods are treated fairly. We are one City.

Of course the political establishment and the Democratic Party largely ignores the African-American community, and will continue to do so, so long as these types of self-promoting false leaders use such issues to divide and excite people to propel their positions of power rather than rallying behind quality of life improving issues.

Jim Buford has been a sell-out for years in the Urban League and on the School Board, Claude Brown is one of the greediest political whores in the Democratic Party, John Motten has totally silenced the Black Leadership Roundtable as Chairman, and Senator Jeff Smith is supporting a Republican trying to be Democrat for Attorney General (Chris Koster) that voted blood and guts against every bill that helps black and poor people.
What the hell do you expect from this group?
Buford is shining his bald head with grease right now so that Slay can slap it good and hard, Claude "Mr. Weeble-Wobble" Brown is gluttingly eating a full bucket of Colonel's Fried Chicken (it's the bumb) and can't get up out of his seat, John Motten (in retirement) is still trying to help raise Laclede Gas rates against blacks, and Senator Jeff Smith is very busy circulating a documentary about gang violence in the black community for his best friend-T.D. El-Amin (the other political whore that took $40,000 from a Republican to hurt black people and take their properties in North St. Louis by virtue of the Land Assemblage Bill).
Get rid of all black people in leadership that sell us out for money and say fuck our community!!!!

Wasn't Buford, Smith,Brown backing Sherman when they Demoted him and that was ok. Know it's time to get toghether and find a solution to some of the rpoblems and they're scum.You people don't want to fix the problems,blame somebody else and want petie for your troubles. Be apart of the solution and nto the bump in the road to stop it.Look around the whole city and look at the development in north city ,of goodfellow,and the new housing about to go up in the Dr.King area.This mayor is about renewel and development. Jump on the band wagon and help this city grow. What did Harmon or Jones do for this city. I can't hear you.

Jeff Smith needs to go. I thought Buford was once standing up for George? All the black people in this town are awful. None of you all could be mayor. Slay is going to fool you and regain a new strong base. He may find help in former enemies. Keep watching.

I will never forget Jim Buford boasting at a Local 420 endorsement selection meeting something to the effect of..."I will win this election (school board) with or without you."
God it was satisfying to watch him lose that night.

He said something to that effect. The quotation marks probably shouldn't be there but the meaning is accurate. It was great. We all became dtermined to defeat the sob. And we did.

Is there propaganda flying here? We need skin detectors on these threads. I read things and think, This is a white guy, acting black, trying to make other whites start a racist rant... and vice versa(race baiting).
All racists can go to/stay in the county, further please, and it won't hurt my feelings any. More of you in the city will only make matters worse. Matter of fact, I hope you meet, and mistake each other for people you have good reason to hate.
