The group representing African-Americans in the St. Louis Fire Department today called on Mayor Francis Slay to address the issues of their members — which account for 44% of the department — and no longer deal exclusively with the so-called "white firefighters union," Local 73. Addington Stewart, the chairman of the Firefighters Institute on Racial Equality (F.I.R.E.), also said that only this week was he informed by St. Louis police that they were about to begin an investigation into allegations of cheating by white firefighters on the 2004 promotions exam — three years after the alleged cheating occurred and after promotions have been made off a possibly tainted list.
Stewart said F.I.R.E. wants to see an independent investigation performed by a federal agency, not local police.

Unions such as F.I.R.E. and Local 73 should be disbanded. Next create one union for the fire department. Both F.I.R.E. and Local 73 should be kicked in the balls for creating unions based upon racial lines.

The FBI may be investigating cheating on the 2004 test that will embarass Local 73 white members and that damn Slay!

FOr starters F.I.R.E is NOT a union! Local 73 accepts members of ALL Races! F.I.R.E does not.
ABout a year or so ago, F.I.R.E asked a woman to join their group, when they found out that she was not afican american they ignored her and no longer wanted her to join F.I.R.E. she became a member of 73.
F.I.R.E has harrased african amercians who have joined 73 and have kicked members of F.I.R.E out of their group after they also became mebers of 73 to help 73 close the gap.
And Let the FBI Investigate to so called cheating and while they are at it let them investigate the members of fire that used recrutes to clean their rental properties while on the cities dime that is forced labor and theft!

Cheating F.I.R.E. has all the experience at it, CAPT. ABE Pruitt signed for the 2002 test before it was given and was promoted to Capt. they speak from experience

Bring on the investigation.Go to the circuit attornies office with your evidence and lets get the ball rollin.While your at it lets bring the Blockett investigation back to light in 2003.The evidence and lie detector test are still down at police headquarters. Copies of the signed receipts to the FIRE building with the video tapes.Investigate all and fire those who cheated and if Stew or Abe Pruitt names are in the mix then they should be fired too. Black or white if you cheated you should be fired. I think the mayor office would gladly clear the cheating up and fire those if there was enough evidence.For those who don't know the judge ruled in June or July of 2006 on the cheating allegations and FIre didn't have enough evidence. He ruled that down. The union pin allegation by Abe was not part of the court proceedings so this is new.I would have made that part of my case if it were true. The public can reading the rulings for them selfs and see what there evidence really is. Local 73 accepts all races, FIRE does not. Who is the racist organiztion. Read the rulings and decide for yourselfs.
