Last weekend, State Rep. Jane Cunningham (R-Chesterfield) launched her campaign for the state Senate.

According to Jo Mannies at the Political Fix, former St. Louis Democratic state rep. Fred Kratky's "Facts 'O Life" band was there, as was State Senator Scott Rupp, State Rep. Allen Icet and Speaker-Elect Ron Richard.

The kick-off's host committee included the mayors of Chesterfield, Town & Country, Creve Coeur, Manchester, and Fenton.

Of course she's there. She's been forwarding info about the elected board's discussions to Cunningham throughout this whole takeover thing. Cunningham accidentally hit "reply all" on one of them and it got back to more of us than she intended it to.

Well I guess that O'Brien out smarted you all, because she sure did get the takeover for Slay. Acting like she is not up Slay's rear end.

Cunningham is raising a whole lot of money. O'Brien tends to follow the money.

I find it interesting that Kratkys band would play at a repulican fundraiser when his wife is runnig for a house seat as a democrat.

I wonder did Veronica O' Brien act crazy at the campaign kickoff like she did on the school board?

Anon 5:04,

Please know you can call me Katie. Cathy is my sister in law and changing my name now would just confuse everyone at the holidays (wink wink).

Ms. O'Brien's relationship with Rep. Cunningham was not a secret...but I can't remember their connection. A few months ago something happened involving the two of them but I can't remember what it was...anybody?

Who is running against her?

10/30/2007 7:51 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Regardless of who she is running against, it is imperitive she be defeated.

If Cunningham has friends of Veronica O'Brien's ilk, then she obviously is deficient in her judgement and should not be elected!

10/30/2007 9:51 PM

Most school board followers would say Cunningham should be defeated, but your choice is another individual that has the same views and no ethics. School board members act like adults and try working with people that can help you. The negative school board member comments can't hurt Cunningham she has a strong following, lot of support and a lot of money.
This is why they took the district over, too many hateful people that don't cre about education.

Ms. Wessling we all now know the person trading off information all year was Diana Bourisaw. You and your white board members are still trying to blame O'Brien. Ms. Wessling you are a small minded racist white woman that never left south St. Louis and should not be on the board. Your actions have shown you are no different than the rest of the worthless elected board. Your goal is to take down Ms. O'Brien. If it happens I want the mansion on Lindell that Irons trashed.
I think I might start liking Jane Cunningham more because she understands that she needs to work with Veronica O'Brien and not waste time trying to beat her down.

Everyone said the crowd was normal and having a good time. No face painting activities, no old men shaking and wonder around lost, and no one preaching the socialist drums.

You people are so closed minded. No wonder the state will not let people like Wessling and that nutty Downs lead. Everyone has a right to support who they want.
Who are the elected school board members to think they can stop people from supporting who they like.
The prior posting was right maybe you all should be more like Kraktys and the other democrats at the event. Working with people. Who are you all to say democrats can't be friends with republicans. Even Bill Clinton became frends with Bush.

I didn't notice wesling saying obrien didn't have a right to support cunningham if she wants, all she did was explain the two of them have a history for the first anony poster.

I think its funny all these anonymous posters call the white board members racist when the white school board members are about the only white elected officials in town to publicly come out and support the black community slay recall effort. and how does every article on this blog turn into about obrien? I been reading back to catch up and that's crazy.

iT IS ABOUT HER BECAUSE THE STUPID SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS THAT RUN THIS BLOG SPEND ALL THEIR TIME TRYING TO ATTACK HER. THE ELECTED BOARD DOES NOT CARE ABOUT EDUCATION JUST WH IS IN CHARGE.

WHO CARES ABOUT A RECALL OF SLAY. ONLY FOOLS WOULD BE INVOLVED WITH THE RECALL AND OF COURSE THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS ARE LEADING THE CHARGE WITH CRAZY WHITE PEOPLE.

Agree this blog is all about the school board. This is why there is never good postings.

Jane is a wonderful lady and an excellent leader; whether you like her or not you must respect her because she fights hard in our State Capital to protect the rights of our children. She is the first person to show up at the Capitol and the Last on to Leave !!spell her name right!! SENATOR JANE CUNNINGHAM

11/01/2007 12:21 AM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

If she's that well liked in Chesterfield then she should be re-elected. They are entitled to have whoever they want represent them-I'm sure they wouldn't like it if their district was being governed by people elected by city residents, even though everyone seems to expect city residents to shut up and be grateful when people we didn't elect come in and take things over. As a city resident I support their right to elect and be governed by who they want, just wish they would return the favor. Personally I expect my state reps and senators to be worried about my district's issues, not someone else's, but if they feel different out there that's fine. Hope they enjoy the right to vote now, cause the way things are going pretty soon the Governor will be appointing the legislature too so he doesn't have to put up with any of that messy discussion and difference of opinion that democracy tends to allow.

But I waste my time here. There must be a blog somewhere that has normal, thoughtful people on it. Can someone direct me there? Antonio, maybe you should just post news and discontinue the blogging aspect. Many of comments posted really drag down the integrity of your reporting.

I would be glad to escort a fine lady like Veronica O'Brien. Most suspect comments about O'Brien and her husband are from Percy Green, Donna Jones, Bill Purdy or some other one of the not so attractive members of the elected board.
Maybe they should look into Bourisaw's husbands ethical background. Maybe this is why he never shows up.

It is clear this blog is all about the dead beat elected board members that can't get a thing done. I hope the judge sticks it to them.
Maybe they will go away with French.

School board haters wake. Leave Veronica alone. She spoke up for the children last week. Veronica has stayed on message every since day one. If you all know about her you would know it was her and Vince that first asked for a takeover, but Vince jumped across the table and she cut him off.
TElected board members like Donna Jones and Bill Purdy should get out of the and stop blocking our children from learning.
Good for Veronica for working with the state education chair. When was the last time a school board president worked with the state?
GJane deserves to win.
