Um not to be a smart ass but has Deputy Chief George checked this out with his boss? He should check before he states something public as a representative of the Fire Department.

Has he still NOT learned?

I like Sherman but the Deputy Chief sounds like he still does not understand the basic chain of command. I think it is sad how Mr. Crumpton, FIRE and their cronies are manipulating the Deputy Chief for their own motives.

Where does it say that he is speaking as a representative of the fire department.

There might be consequences for him if he speaks, but according to the first amendment from 1789, he (and others of his race) is now included among those whose freedom to speak cannot be abridged.

IF HE IS SPEAKING ABOUT ANYTHING REGAURDING ANY ACTIONS TAKEN BY THE DEPARTMENT AND IS AN EMPLOYEE OF SAID DEPARTMENT THEN HE IS A REPRESENTATIVE OF SAID DEPARTMENT DUMMY!

Sherman George is a heroic man with 40 years of public service along with two tours of duty in Viet Nam and he is my hero!

It's been hard to support the chief since he never ever speaks...but I do want to hear what he has to say. Maybe he will announce that he will retire and spend all of his checks on supporting whoever decides to run against that SLAY...I'm sick and tired of that little mayor running over black folks and having folks like Uncle Bryson doing his dirty work for him.

Wow, the bigots have come out on this website...AGAIN.

I swear, I bet this is worse than reading the Klan's blog! Between people supporting a man that could not understand that just because he is African American does not mean he does not have to answer to a chain of command like every one else in America and the other people that vilify a man and call him an Uncle Tom for doing his job. (And might I add Mr. Bryson is a very well respected man in the whole community which makes these racist comments even harder to understand.) This is sickening. I now know where the racists are in this town and here's a hint...they ain't white.

Heroic!? HA! I guess it is heroic to use the courts to get promoted and then try to use the courts so you don't have to do your job.

Nice hero. Who is your next hero going to be Baby Blunt?

For you idiots, the city charter gives the fire chief the sole discretion to promote or not! Mr. George will be victorious in court and will sue the city for millions for a constructive termination! The interim fire chief that has been appointed by that damn Slay has received discipline under Sherman George and is the subject of two ongoing investigations!
