What the white students did was wrong; what the black students did was wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right.

The issue is not whether what the black kids or the white kids did was wrong. The issue is how much more severe the punishment was for the black kids.
No one is defending the brawl that resulted in the charges. What angers people is the message sent from the town's prosecutor to its black citizens: Whites are more protected under the law in Jena, than blacks.

Off the Lena subject a minute, does anyone know what ever happened to the White men who was racially attacked that Black man months ago outside a St. Charles bar, with the Black man, I believe losing his eye in that racial attack.
The last I heard, even though the parties responsible for the racial attack had been identified, no arrest had been made. This was reported on the news and swept under the rug, no more to be heard. What a crying shame. It was a pure racist beating consisting of White on Black. But in good old St. Charles County, that's just fine.

The white students' wrong was symbolic (nooses on a tree) and vocal. The black students' wrong was violence and physical harm.
The law defines the seriousness of those acts regardless of race. Physical harm to another(and especially six against one) is always deemed criminal.
Even a black or Asian prosecutor would have been obliged to follow the law.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights movement always stayed above the law. He would be disappointed with both groups if he were alive today.

LOL!
You keep telling yourself that one. It will get you through the discomfort and embarrasment of being challenged with the reality of bigotry and xenophobia that is generations engrained in every institution of AmeriKKKan society.
The reality is that mankind is one race - the Human Race. No ethnicity of humanity is any better or any less than another. Yet, for centuries of contemporary history, occidental ethnicity has enjoyed their presumption of imperial hegemony through debilitating conquest, justified by a presumed claim of superiority by the rights of Divine Providence. Fearful of loss of prestige, whether these benefits and privileges are deserved or not, irregardless of how this presumption affects other ethnicities, this beastly unruly horde has killed off or otherwise ruthlessly suppressed any ethnic group it deems a threat to its alleged supreme way of being. It's a global empire that has subjugated the world and raped the planet of all her resources for ages. They subdue the inhabitants of the world with their governing systems that guarantee hunger, nakedness, sickness and disease, joblessness, hopelessness, and powerlessness.
I know. You look at Faux Noise and Channel Fear, who, every fifteen minutes tell you that anything but white is wrong. Anything but white will kill you. Anything but white is inferior. White is good. White is perfect. That way when anything but white brings Jena, or AIDS in Africa, or Darfur, or the illegal unilateral preemptive occupation of Iraq to your attention, you're already conditioned to recoil and blame the victims of the WHITES. Well, check this out. The skin color white makes up less than one tenth of the ethnicities of the planet in a world growing more and more frustrated with all things occidental. No human empire gets away with getting on the planet's nerves forever. Just ask Alexander of Macedonia.
