Fire officials are blaming an act of God for damage suffered last night by the historic St. Alphonsus "Rock" Catholic Church in midtown. Labels: Fire_Dept
PubDef's camera was there as firefighters put out the blaze apparently caused by a lightning strike on the roof of the 135-year-old church. The fire reportedly gutted "The Rock," which is Missouri's largest African-American Catholic church.

Heard that it is going to be rebuilt. Thanks. It really is a beautiful church, even after being gutted by fire.

This post has nothing to do with St. Louis Public Schools or Ms. O'Brien. Please stay on topic.
