French to Manage Hubbard Campaign

By Antonio D. French

Filed Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 6:00 AM

State Representative Rodney Hubbard has hired Antonio French to manage his campaign for state senate.

This is the third senate campaign for French. Previous campaigns for Senators Wayne Goode and Patrick Dougherty were both successful. French most recently worked on Lewis Reed's successful campaign for President of the Board of Aldermen earlier this year.

Hubbard is seeking to replace term-limited State Senator Maida Coleman. Other possible candidates include State Reps Tom Villa and Robin Wright Jones.

The Democratic primary election is August 5, 2008.

Antonio,

How does this effect your membership with "Show me Progress"? Can you really be for progressive change in MO while at the same time helping Hubbard, who scored less than 50% with MO Pro Vote. He voted for some awful stuff Antonio. As his campaign manager please explain why.

As kind of an outsider, I have to look at Hubbard's voting record compared to 4 years ago, as well as many others---not to mention a subtly different attitude from Antonio regarding school solutions.

Are there significant attitude changes going on with progressive legislators regarding the acceptability of formerly suspect school choices----namely charter and voucher types of solutions?

I mention this subject again---I wonder what Hubbard's attitude is regarding the TexasCan, or MissouriCan charter which the state board has talked about--choose your verb---offering to, inflicting upon slps.

Hubbsrd is voucher all the way. The dems dumped him. Will French be able to let the current strings that control him go? Will he still work for Lewis Reed?

I'm not a Rodney Hubbard fan, but I am an Antonio French fan. When you excell at what you do, EVERYBODY wants you. Congratulations and best wishes. As for Mr. Hubbard, though I disagree with him on certain issues, I would rather see him in office than Tom Villa definitely!

One thing we all should've learned from the Clay years, "No permanent friends, no permanent enemies, just permanent interests".

Antonio is taking this position to pay the bills. If you offer Antonio enough money he will take the position. He is no different than any other pollitician.

Antonio has created a website that many people visit and he will support the people on this website that support him. Think you want Antonio's support, then think you better reach in your pockets deep.

This is not your grandfather's United States of America anymore where human beings care about each other, human beings have been broken down to the dollar. Everything is about the dollar.

Even pastors in the church are about that dollar in the end, that is why the money basket is passed around in church more than the Holy Bible. Pastors are rich today and build mega centers with private jets and such.

Antonio, you should build a church and become a preacher, that way you could cleanse the souls and pockets of the politicians. You could call the church PUB DEF NON-PARTISAN TABERNACLE. Get all of your money man, and pimp it all the way out LIKE A G!

Congratulations OG!

But conrats on your work that you will be doing with current State Rep. Hubbard, he is a great guy and despite what others do this website is one thing but business is business and do what you do because you do it well.

For the record, Show Me Progress is a blog, not an organization. We are a collection of progressive voices from around Missouri who believe that the state could benefit from a community blog that lowers the barriers to allow more voices into the conversation. That's something that the current political and media climate doesn't allow.

We're overjoyed to have someone of Antonio's talents contributing on our site. We invited Antonio to participate on our front page because he is one of the leading bloggers in the state, and he has a long track record in fighting for progressive causes, especially on public education.

Let me emphasize that any of you can sign up and write for our blog, not just comments, but your own posts.

Say it isn't so...Antonio...

It appears that James Harris, former Blunt henchmen, benefactor of recently disgraced former-representative Cooper, and one of the creators of the Adam Smith Foundation and ally of Jeff Roe, conducting the fundraising for Hubbard.

Is that true?
