Susan Montee Endorses Obama

By Antonio D. French

Filed Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 3:23 PM

Missouri State Auditor Susan Montee endorsed U.S. Senator Barack Obama in his bid for President today, making her the first Missouri Democratic statewide elected official to endorse a presidential candidate.

Montee also announced the formation of "Missouri Women for Obama," an organization she will chair. The following is from Montee's statement:

America needs a leader who can inspire us to be better in every way. Barack Obama is a once-in-a-generation leader who will bring this country together like we haven’t seen in over 40 years. Barack Obama is running a campaign that is about more than Democrat or Republican – listen to him and you’ll hear a message of coming together as a nation to solve our common problems. Look at his record and you’ll see a history of working with people of all kinds, focusing on common purpose instead of perceived difference.

Electing Barack Obama is about more than race or gender or class. I'm endorsing Barack Obama today because he represents America as it can be, America as it should be. After nearly eight years of partisan politics trumping good government, the stakes are too high for any of us to sit on the sidelines.

Missouri Women for Obama is a statewide organization. Members are located in each of Missouri’s nine congressional districts and the organization is actively organizing women throughout the state to promote Obama’s candidacy.

Montee's endorsement announcement included sending letters to Missouri's newspaper editors, copies of which were provided to the press.

Although Susan Montee never made herself known to any African-Americans at all in the black community during her candidacy, I guess somewhere, somehow, she celebrates diversity.

If Senator Obama can evoke passion out of an outstate country girl like Susan Montee to form a committee of women for his Presidential bid, then maybe this guy has a chance in hell of winning the Democratic nomination.

However, if the United States elects its first African-American President of the United States, then I know its time to move out of the country. Why?

Look at it this way, Obama becoming President of the United States will be similar to the path of Oprah Winfrey.

First of all, President Obama will immediately forget that he is black, he never mentions it now because of politics. Then around his third year in office he will have an affair with a white woman, and his wife won't be as nice as Hillary Clinton was to Bill.

President Obama will immediately kick black people in their butts worst than a white person ever would to prove that he does not practice favoritism. Although all Presidents have practiced favoritism toward their own race, especially from an economic standpoint. Neither President Clinton nor Bush made any black people millionaires but they sure as hell made some white people millionaires. The same with Oprah Winfrey, she hates herself and black people native to America. Strange thing that both individuals are based in Chicago.

Chicago people are missing a lugnut (my relatives included)and f*ck the Chicago Cubs (CORK BAT BUMS), THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS WILL ALWAYS BE NUMBER #1 REGARDLESS OF THEIR RECORD!

Sorry, I got off point, can't help it and had to say it.

Anyway, after President Obama does all of this mess, black people will be treated worst than ever in the United States. Americans will say if we had never put that n!44a in office then our country would not have gone down the tubes. This will lead to the severe hatred of black people for years to come and worst than ever.

F^CK IT! I'M STILL VOTING FOR OBAMA AND CONGRATULATIONS TO SUSAN MONTEE FOR HAVING SOME BALLS OF STEEL!

Antonio--it is rare for the PD to mention something significant that you leave out--but they said Montee was a delegate to the 2004 convention---for Edwards.

I'm a white guy who grew up in the sticks who wants Obama to be nominated. He communicates directly and clearly---people are hungry for that. The media are suspicious of that sort of behavior----I think that is why so many of them are doing cartwheels about how Obama was upstaged by the "sophisticated, careful, mature" Hillary on that question about meeting with enemy leaders. Obama is not stupid---and I would bet most voters welcome the clarity of "yes I would talk to them", and leave the details of being careful to the experts.

Music and sports have been successfully integrated---can you imagine the level of genuine admiration by fatcat republicans for Tiger Woods? His color, even his "lack" of it, is a bigger deal to the media than it is to voters.

I anon is on the mark with the concerns of personal scrutiny of Obama. I think Bush is getting a free ride right now----there is a gay gossip columnist named Ted Casablanca that has reported accurately about a lot of things in the world of frivolity---one serious thing he is reporting is that Bush's wife has moved away from George to a great extent---because George is drinking a lot these days. She is pist about it.

Just elect the best person---don't worry about anything else.
