By Antonio D. French

Filed Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 10:59 AM

Tonight will mark the directorial debut of St. Louis American editor Chris King. "Blind Cat Black," King's first feature film, “premieres tonight as part of The St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase.

"Blind Cat Black," which features several local well-knowns appearing for the first time on film (some of them in ghoulish zombie make-up), starts at 7:00 p.m. at The Tivoli Theater in the Delmar Loop.

This film has so many negative sterotypes of black people you would think the KuKluxKlan made it!

Chris King is disgusting.
How can a man who represents and edits a Black Newspaper in St. Louis have such a racist and distorted view of the very people he writes about every week.
Dr. Suggs should be ashamed of himself for having such a horrible racist animal on his payroll.
I applaud everyone who got up and walked out of that filthy film. Blind Cat Black is a disgrace to human kind.

I agree. I heard Lizz Brown talking about this on her show this morning. Wasn't she the one who said he was no good for black folks all along? Good for you Ms. Brown you were right!!!!!!!

I am so amazed at how blind,(hence the title of Chris King's disgusting movie titled Blind Cat Black) so many people in the city are. The publisher of the Black newspaper is making a movie to mock and further demolish the greatness of African Americans. Okay, now I see why the St. Louis American doesn't report on the Truths of the real criminals of the city (hence the Sullivan's and Mayor Slay's) Ohhhhh, now I realize why the paper slanders and attacks Black businesses and the very people who read and believe that the paper truly represents their interest. Hah...Can we say boycott
