Clan or Klan? What Did a Former School Board Member Call His Critics?

By Antonio D. French

Filed Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 11:34 PM

Former school board member Ron Jackson was already in hostile territory when he walked into tonight's panel discussion on St. Louis Public Schools, he could see that by the familiar faces of teachers' union members and parents who have been critical of his decisions during his four years on the board.

But he quickly made things worse for himself when he referred to those critics as either "the clan" or "the Klan".

Whether the word used by Jackson, who is black, began with a "c" or a "k", some people in the crowd were audibly offended.

Clever strategy by Jackson---say something stupid which will be the main thing reported to maintain the aura of "those people" have a circus. going on. Even in pub def---we get nothing of substance reported from the meeting.

Was Jeff Smith challenged about this deal where the state board is going to model a charter school for st. Louis after what that company is doing in texas?

Jackson played pub def for suckers on this.

Relax, kjoe. Don't be so fickle. There are several videos coming from the meeting. I just chose to get some sleep before diving into the meaty stuff.

Hey Antonio! Isn't that Otis Woodward? He used to come out to my school in St. Charles and we would doante food for his kitchen. Does he still run one on North Grand somewhere? If so where at?

In 2003, after the Schoehmehl and company hiring of $625 an hour Alvarez and Marsal consultants, people were wearing t shirts about Slay's Raiders with drawings of white hooded Klan Slay's raiders.

Maybe it was payback.

Remember the tv stations broadcast footage of him losing control in a church building and having to be physically restrained to keep him away from a parent.

Good judgment and good impulse control is not this fellow's strong suit.

What a wonderful example he was to students.

Who said it was ok for you to get some sleep?

Sorry, antonio.

Leave Ron alone. He should call Clement other union members Klan even if he did say clan. It is clear this is a out of control group that seems to show a lot of racist traits.
