If the state has no confidence in SLPS ability to administer a school district, why are they hiring away our administrators?

Mr. Teferi is an excellent educator and administrator. He was an excellent educator at Harris Stowe University and an excellent prinicipal at Gateway Middle School. Unfortunately, he had no opportunity for advancement in the St. Louis Public Schools, so he moved in a direction that would allow advancement. Don't hate on a individual looking for ways to advance in lieu of the presence of a chaotic environment!

What we NEED are excellent educators...at least a few who are willing to stay and fight rather than throw in the towel when needed most. I'm not hating, but have NO respect for his decision.

How can you say Mr. Tefari had no opportunity for advancement in SLPS when your own post notes that he was a principal at Gateway. He was also promoted to Science Supervisor, and is leaving as a Deputy Superintendent. That sounds like advancement to me.
And yes, he and many others are excellent educators and administrators in SLPS, which was my point. If the state has no confidence in SLPS ability to administer a school district, why are they hiring our administrators?

Many quality administrators and teachers are choosing to leave the district. Even if we are passionate about the children of SLPS you have to understand that working in this chaos there is absolutely no loyalty to those who serve. You stay hoping to advance and with the revolving administration can never truly move up.
