The St. Louis Metropolitan Children's Agenda and Vision for Children at Risk will be hosting a School Board candidates forum on Saturday, March 24. Labels: Schools
This forum is the eighth in a series of forums called "A Public Dialogue on Public Education". According to organizers, the purpose of this forum will be to provide an opportunity for school board candidates to outline their views on the critical issues facing the St. Louis Public Schools and to engage in a dialogue with voters and other members of the community concerned about the city's schools.
The session will be structured in three 30-minute segments: (1) each board candidate will be asked to outline his or her positions on issues facing the St. Louis schools in a presentation of about five minutes; (2) candidates will be asked to respond to a series of questions posed by a moderator; and (3) audience members will be allowed to ask questions of the school board candidates.
Admission is free, but registration is required. Please RSVP to blboston@visionforchildren.org. A light lunch will be served.
The forum will be at the Engineers' Club is in the Central West End on the north side of Lindell Boulevard between Boyle and Newstead Avenues.

Time would be better spent interviewing Slay, Shrewsbury and Blunt on their likely appointees.

Like they'd tell you who they're interviewing.

Ok, don't ask them. But don't vote April either. Like it matters who will be kicked out of control.

And that statement right above is the reason our schools are in such a state. Not caring.

Why should voters care? Most voters, or even most school board members for that matter, don't even have a child enrolled in the SLPS.

Thanks to organizers of "School Board Forum" from Bill Monroe, candidate.
I will be there as the only Missouri School Board' Association Certified Board Member according to State statute (RSMo 162.203).
I am against state takeover/intervention and remain independant, except for the benefit of our children.

Why should voters care?
Does it matter if Americans have the right to vote? Does it matter if their votes can be overturned? Does it matter how children are educated? Does it matter how tax money is spent? Does it matter if those in authority are corrupt or honest? Does it matter what kind of people we raise up in our society to carry on our traditions? Does it matter if our traditions are carried on? Etc. Etc. Etc.
This whole attitude of "the people in power will do what they want and we can't do anything about it" is the MOST RIDICULOUSLY ANTI-AMERICAN ATTITUDE EVER IN AMERICAN HISTORY. What if all those who came before us from Washington and Jefferson to Lincoln, Roosevelt, and King had had this attitude? Our founders must be spinning in their graves at the apathy of this generation THEY gave their all to empower.
Shame, shame, shame on us if we don't MAKE ourselves care.

Good thing Bill Monroe is both certified and "indepedant".

Can't even spell a misspelling right.
Sorry Bill, maybe being "independant" isn't so bad.

Antonio, can you put the time of the forum in the post? I didn't see it.
