Post-Dispatch education reporter Steve Giegerich has become a lightning rod for controversy and has for months been accused of fanning the flames of the takeover of SLPS supported by Mayor Francis Slay. Labels: Media_Watch, Schools
At press conferences in the past, speakers have called out the Post-Dispatch — and Giegerich, in particular — for what has been seen as biased reporting.
Yesterday, during the first hour of the continuing student sit-in in the mayor's office, Giegerich's reporting again became the subject of discussion after the reporter attacked the credibility of the students and their supporters.

I am glad none of the kids challenged Giegerich's reporting and journalism credentials for his failure to ever follow up or ask more questions about the murder of Timothy Bacon a few days before he was to take legal action last summer.
That could probably get a kid killed.
