GOP Accuses Dems in Photo-gate

By Antonio D. French

Filed Friday, March 30, 2007 at 12:31 PM

From the Missouri Republican Party...

In what is certainly the most disgusting use of the politics of personal destruction in state history, Missouri Democrats this week provided to the media STOLEN personal family photos of a member of Gov. Matt Blunt’s staff. The Missouri Republican Party immediately called for an investigation into how Democrats obtained the photos and who was responsible for these disgusting, politically motivated attacks on a female crime victim.

“Democrat Chairman John Temporiti as the head of his party should start his investigation with Senators Maida Coleman, Chuck Graham and Victor Callahan to ensure that everyone at the State Democrat Party who has knowledge of the perpetrators of this victimization come clean,” said Jared Craighead, executive director of the Missouri Republican Party. “Saying ‘we don’t know and we can’t find out who used these stolen photos for political gain’ won’t cut it! Democrats need to hold their own people accountable when deplorable tactics such as these are used. Winning at all costs should not be the standard in Missouri politics.”

The Missouri Republican Party today also called on the Missouri Democrat Party to apologize to the victim and her family for these despicable tactics and hold their people accountable for this reprehensible behavior by firing those responsible, cooperating with investigators, demanding resignations from elected officials involved in this exploitation and not stonewalling the family who has a right to know who did this. This story was irresponsibly reported by The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and hopefully Democrats will responsibly take immediate corrective action as outlined above.

More than anything else, I do not get the Post Dispatch on this.

Front page story? Why?

I am trying to figure out the mindset of a democrat strategist who would think: "If I can publicize the fact that someone stole private family pictures of a man's wife--she is naked!!!---and that thief posted them on the internet, then the republicans will be embarrassed to say anything, and will probably lose the election for governor, because she works for Matt Blunt".

I doubt any such mindset exists.

If, however, a republican strategist had this mindset: "talk radio good. Internet stuff bad. create outrage."

I am so prejudiced against republicans. I always think the worst of them---I wish they would start proving me wrong.

Well Kjoe, when you become disgusted by both sides. Then you will begin to see the bigger picture.

Please don't confuse me with your sensible suggestions until I calm down a little bit.

If disgust were a meal, the republicans would be filet mignon, and the democrats would be creme brulet.

Sorry Kjoe, won't happen again.

Star, what part of the fact that the pictures were stolen out of her home computer by hackers does not scare the "Wooly Carps" out of you?

Can we get one of those [sic] things after the phrase "Missouri Democrat Party”?

The use of the word Democrat is impropper. Democrat is being used as an adjective and that defies the rules of English grammar.

If the Republican Party insists on using poor Grammar then the public should know.

Let's give credit where credit is due---

President Bush has actually sent out a memo to those who make the "no child left behind" competency tests, urging them to include a question about the proper use of democrat and democratic.

Part of his legacy will be a nation which uses the language properly and accurate. ly.

If you think that Craighead is not trying to "get your goat" then consider your "goat gotten."[sic]

A [sic] would be very appropriate and would probably stop this slight. [wink wink- we know that you are an idiot-nudge nudge]

I think the best advice is to not take naked pictures of your spouse if you are in politics.

Said the man who has never had a pregnant wife. You do what ever they tell you to and in a big hurry.

Blaming the victim is not your style, Doug.

Not sure why she decided to document her pregnacy in the nude. She could have taken pictures of her stomach as it grew bigger with her clothes on, doctors are willing to give copies of ultrasounds. I just don't think the reason she was taking the nude pictures is to document her pregnacy.

Oh, so that is why it is OK to hack in to her home computer and steal them?

Pathetic reasoning.

I may be reading this with a jaded view on politicians in general. But if the shoe were on the other foot, beecee. The Democrats would sharpening the pitch forks and lighting the torches to storm the evil Count Republican's castle.

When you become disgusted with both sides, you will begin to see the bigger picture.

If you take something that does not belong to you it is stealing.

I am trying to figure out why she decided she had to document in the nude. I am female and have had children. Nude pictures to document I just don't get it.

How this woman chose to document HER pregnancy is none of our business. Why is everyone commenting on it? It is as personal a choice as when, where and how she got pregnant.

Something was stolen from her. The criminals that stole it should be punished severely. Personally, I think hackers and virus writers should be publicly executed. They are parasites.

Go Cards!

The reason we have hackers and virus writers is because Microsoft writes criminally negligent software in order to allow a multi-billion dollar anti-virus industry to exist. I use Linux and I do not pay a dime for anything and my system has never been compromised.

Don't keep anything sensitive on a computer connected to the Internet and make sure you use full drive encryption like TrueCrypt.

This is a lesson for all.
