The state board is meeting today. How anticlimactic. Today is the day that democracy died in St. Louis City. Today is the day that the politicians officially rob the public of their right to vote--especially when the pols dissaprove of the votes results. Today is the day the Nazis in Missouri win a battle. All of the arguments used by Slay concerning the small election turnout, or the inability of the public to know their own minds--are eerily parallel to arguments made in an earlier time. The time was the 1940's, and the speaker was Hermann Goerring of the Third Reich, Nazi party. Citizens of Missouri today who back this takeover must be SOOO PROUD. They have officially joined the ranks of history's fascists. I only pray that someone comes forth with a respect for democracy and fair play to end this travesty of justice. This has nothing to do with improving education and everything to do with a vicious power grab and bold attempts to steal taxpayer dollars earmarked for public education. Keep in mind--we'll be watching...and waiting to pounce the second we get evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
