The Kansas City Star has a video of Gov. Matt Blunt discussing the ongoing lawsuit by several school districts, including St. Louis Public Schools, claiming that Missouri does not adequately fund public education.
"I think we have a good formula that's driven by the needs of the students," Blunt said in the video. "I'm opposed to seeking a tax increase through the court system."
In the video Blunt, who recently said education was his "highest priority", also briefly discusses the St. Louis school district.
"It's the largest school district in the State of Missouri and it's not providing a quality education to the young Missourians that are in that school district," he said.

Daddy peaked a few months ago and has lost some power. I hope Boy Blunt continues in Daddy's footsteps.
His comments are insubstantial. He's a weak, do- nothing governor that has attracted weak politicians like do-nothing Slay.

Disagreement on the truth of that statement? There are a small number of exceptions, but, by and large, I think it is true.
While many may disagree on the solution, I hope we all feel that there is a problem.

Why blame educators for the results of poverty and other social ills? Do we blame dentists for cavities in patients who won't brush or floss? If a woman addicted to drugs or alcohol gives birth, is her doctor incompetent if the baby does not rate 10 on the Apgar scale? Aren't we fixing blame in the wrong place here?
