As expected, Jim Shrewsbury tonight won the endorsement of 16th Ward, a ward he represented as alderman before becoming Board President.
The vote was 29 to 2.

Someone in another post reported that all the white aldermtn are supporting Shrewsbury.
That is far from true.
So far Hanrahan (23rd ward), Gregali (14th ward), and Florida (15th ward) have endrosed Reed.
Wessels has endorsed Shrewsbuuy, Villa has made positive statements for Shrewsbury (but no formal official endorsement yet).
Some interesting possibilities for Reed: Krewson (Shrewsbury's last opponent and her ward endorsed Reed) and Roddy (Shrewsbury opposes BJC expansion in his ward).
Young? Conway? Probably will go Shrewsbury. Maybe.
Kirner? Dice roll. Leaning Reed
Schmid? Well, if the last redistricting is any indicator....

Schmid is too much of a pussy to go against Shrewsbury.

Hey I live in the ward and I support shrew because he supports the rights of the whiteman and lives up to his word for our community! Im not sure Mr.reed will do the same, the blacks in the city tend to be worse off than us and need more attention. Will that take away from my area? I dont know but what I do know is that Shrew will keep an eye out for us and thats what matters to me! WHITE PRIDE!

Is the Reed campaign so bereft of ideas that it must pay people to post comments like the one by "south city resident"?

I remember the old days when the mayor was fighting with the comptroller who was fighting with the president who was fighting with the mayor and ugly, racial attacks were as common around City Hall as “For Sale” signs were in the neighborhoods.
I haven’t paid much attention to either of these guys but it is very obvious that alderman Reed’s people have been posting most of these comments.
If this is any indication of what to expect if he is elected then I say NO THANKS!

Need I say that the use of racial slurs is inappropriate?
