U.S. Senator-elect Claire McCaskill will serve on five Senate committees, including the Senate Armed Services Committee, according to the Associated Press. Labels: U.S._Senate
From the AP: The newly elected Missouri Democrat also will have a seat on the Senate committees on commerce; homeland security and government affairs; aging; and Indian affairs...
Spokeswoman Adrianne Marsh said McCaskill would use her position on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee to establish a "Truman Committee" to look into wartime spending.

Wow, how did she get that coveted slot on the Indian Affairs Committee?
Maybe blowing off the orientation session wasn't such a good idea after all.

When's the next session start? And how do committee meetings work, are they weekly? I never really understood that...
And uh, just to add fuel to the "Antonio's a shill for Talent" fire, does anyone know what Jim's saying he'll be up to now that he's lost the election? I mean, what's a failed US Senator do other than get a cushy job from your corporate pals? He doesn't seem like the think-tank type. Any anouncements from his handlers?

All I know is Claire should pay Antonio every time he puts up that picture of her. Wow! That don't look nothing like the woman I saw during the debates.

I noticed you added her to the banner at the top of the page too.

Claire should have had her butt at work already not flying her $3 million airplane to beaches with her benefactor, er, husband. AND PAY YOUR TAXES YOU DEADBEAT!!!

Gosh, guys. Is it sour grapes season already?
Congrats, Claire. Enjoy some time with your family now. The next six years are going to be hectic.

Oracle, you just can't help being bitter, can you?
Get your head out of St. Louis for a minute, and you might realize that there are Native Americans in Missouri. Furthermore, with five committee assignments, it might be ok if one is slightly less glamorous.

Glad you like the photo, B. Real. And thanks for noticing the banner change.
Ben, I haven't heard what Talent is going to be doing next. But I have heard his name thrown around as a possible gubernatorial candidate in 2008 should Matt Blunt not run again. I'll let you know when I hear more -- maybe at the next meeting of "shills" and "quasi-supporters". ;)

Come, come, detractors. Such bitterness is unbecoming for even beasts of your demeanor. The old girl has done very well for herself. I say, "GO, Claire! You girl!"

Antonio-
A run for Governor is what I feared. I'm not sure what Democrat, other than McMillan, maybe, might have the clout and backing in this state to run for Governor next time around.
Maybe Slay...
...yikes
