Did Shrewsbury have more support than these pictures indicate at his event?

If not, then there may be a large group of people that are undecided about whom they will support in the upcoming President of the Board of Alderman race.

Shrewsbury vs. Reed for President of the Board of Alderman on Tuesday, March 6, 2007.

Citywide breakdown

1st Ward
Shrewsbury could take this ward. Depends on what he brings to the table.

2nd Ward
Shrewsbury takes this ward because of his previous support of Flowers, Brown, and Moore.

3rd Ward
Shrewsbury could take this ward. Depends on what he brings to the table.

4th Ward
Shrewsbury could take this ward. Depends on what he brings to the table.

5th Ward
Shrewsbury could take this ward. Depends on what he brings to the table.

6th Ward
Reed should carry his own ward.

7th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

8th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

9th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

10th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

11th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

12th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

13th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

14th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

15th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

16th Ward
Nobody beats Shrewsbury in the 16th Ward.

17th Ward
This ward may go to Shrewsbury, but Reed can pull some votes from here.

18th Ward
Shrewsbury could take this ward. Depends on what he brings to the table.

19th Ward
Mike McMillan will carry this ward for Shrewsbury, in exchange for the License Collector and good committee placements for his new alderman (Marlene Davis).

20th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward, and Reed can pull some votes if he campaigns hard.

21st Ward
Shrewsbury can carry this ward easily, unless Reed makes a connection with Nasheed for GOTV.

22nd Ward
Shrewsbury will split this ward at best,if Reed makes a connection with the committeepeople. Alderman Boyd will be busy focusing on his own race.

23rd Ward
Reed should get this endorsement, if he doesn't-he should not run. Shrewsbury votes against Slay all the time, and if the 23rd Ward doesn't go against Shrewsbury then nobody else in South St. Louis has a reason to be against Shrewsbury.

24th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

25th Ward
Shrewsbury will carry this ward. Whites rule here.

26th Ward
Shrewsbury could take this ward. Depends on what he brings to the table.

27th Ward
Shrewsbury could take this ward. Depends on what he brings to the table.

28th Ward
Shrewsbury could take this ward. Depends on what he brings to the table.

Early prediction:

Shrewsbury 60%
Reed 40%

Shrewsbury doesn't have great name recognition, but neither does Reed. However, Reed is a more common name with many people in North St. Louis, and Shrewsbury will definitely resonate with South St. Louis.

Reed carry his own ward??? I think not...unless it's only the developers who vote and not the residents. While Reed makes every cocktail party and reception thrown by any developer, he is a ghost to his constituents--never returning phone calls, emails, or postal mail.

I wish to make a comment about the 1st anonymous. Your statement of "whites rule" is probably an over simplification. If you look at the breakdowns from the last school board election, a black candidates did very well in most of the "southside" wards. Also in 7 and 8, there are black committee women, so whites don't rule here. In the last contested President of the Board election President Shrewsbury didn't do well in the "central corridor" and history has shown, through the 4th Senate Race and school board that a black candidate can beat a white candidate in the "north city" wards. I find your ward breakdowns very general and probably wrong, though your percentages may be right.
