Friends and colleagues of Election Board Chairman Ed Martin gathered tonight at Café Eau in the Chase Park Plaza to celebrate his appointment as chief of staff for Gov. Matt Blunt. Labels: Election_Board
Many of Martin's election board colleagues were on hand to wish him well as he leaves the board and moves to Jefferson City. Republican officials including Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder and Judy Zakibe, Chair of St. Louis City's Republican Central Committee, as well as several elected Democrats -- including License Collector Gregg Daly, Ald. Jeffrey Boyd, Circuit Atty. Jennifer Joyce, Circuit Clerk Mariano Favazza, State Sen. Pat Dougherty, and State Rep-elect Talibdin El-Amin -- stopped in to congratulate Martin, who starts his new job on September 1.
Other well-wishers included: Former Election Board member Angeletta McCormick Franks; former Rams star, Mike "The Tackle" Jones; and Police Board Pres. Chris Goodson.

Ed Martin has done a great job in these last elections. He has transcended party lines and gained respect as a Republican, as evidenced by the presence of so many Democratic elected officials at his party. Ed Martin has learned how to appeal to these Democratic whores, and will buy them off from the Governor's office.
Ed "the Pimp" Martin, Ed did you know it is hard out here for a pimp!
These Democratic elected officials that attended this function are very close to the Republicans and will campaign for Ed Martin as he supports Governor Matt Blunt's
re-election efforts against the Democratic nominee. In exchange these Democratic whores will receive political favors and personal favors that will lead to economic gain from the Governor's office.
These Democratic political whores didn't even give Ed Martin a chance to become Chief of Staff before they started kissing his a$$.
The Democratic Party is for sale on the auction block! Who is the highest bidder?

Well said. That's the problem with Democrats. How quickly they forget that these repubs that they support are going to be the same ones sticking it to them next week.
How are the Dems that gave Peter Kinder fundraisers over the past couple of years not support him the next time he's up against a Dem for state-wide office? It's certain that they aren't thinking about the big picture - only their own a$$es. Where are all of the Republican supporters of Democrats?
