"I think this is a perfect opportunity to hear how the residents of St. Louis feel about civilian residency and it gives citizens who work during the day the opportunity to attend a board meeting and to express their concerns to the body that represents them," said Colonel Chris Goodson, President of the Board of Police Commissioners.
The Board's August meeting will be held at The Tandy Center, 4206 West Kennerly on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. Open Board meetings are normally held the third Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at Police Headquarters, 1200 Clark Avenue.

If this is like the one at Word of Life school, all you will see are police department civilian employee union members booing anyone who disagrees with them and neither the police board nor the police officials in attendance making any effort to stop them. If the police board really wants to know what the public wants they will support a referendum on the November ballot.
Matt Blunt obtained an endorsement from city police based on his willingness to eliminate residency. Matt Blunt appointed Chris Goodson to the police board, and the residency requirement was substantially whittled down. What do you really think the outcome of these public forums will be?

City residents will be free to speak without SLMPD employee harrassment this November, when majority rules. But of course, our state-controlled police board will again ignore the will of the people.
