Bombing Biondi

By Antonio D. French

Filed Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 5:10 PM

Word is that Father Lawrence Biondi, president of St. Louis University, is in Lebanon tonight, holed up in a hotel room while Israel bombs the country.

UPDATE: The AP now has the story... "University spokesman Clayton Berry said Biondi has been in frequent contact with the school and is talking with the U.S. Embassy to find out when and how to best get out of the country and return home."

Wow, hope this is not true. Can we get our school back from him if he can't return to the U>S>

This is not true, Father Biondi is in Lebanon to have peace talks. Father Biondi tried hard to bring about peace and unfortunately that talks did not work out. Father Biondi is tough and he will not allow any bombing from the Israeli government to keep him from accomplishing what he needs to while there. Father Biondi will be back because he is Saint Louis University's fearless leader, and the stadium must be completed on time-on schedule. Our prayers are with Father Biondi.

I join the many current anfd former employees in the wish for a long happy life for Fr. Biondi. He would be best suited to a life in the Middle East helping the warring factions.

I think making light of Fr. Biondi situation is in bad taste. In stead of taking a swipe at him we should all be concerned with his, and all peoples' in the Middle East's, safety.

All we are saying is: give peace a chance.
