Dead Soldier's Family Forced to Wait

By Antonio D. French

Filed Friday, June 30, 2006 at 3:31 PM

We overheard a Lambert Airport official today saying the family of
a Missouri soldier killed in Iraq was forced to wait for hours to accept the body Wednesday because of President George W. Bush's arrival in St. Louis for a fundraiser for Sen. Jim Talent.

At the fundraiser, Bush said "one thing about old Jim Talent, he understands what I understand, is that when you put a man or woman in uniform and ask them to go into harm's way, they deserve the full support of the United States government."

Click here to read the text of Bush's speech.

Antonio, thats a pretty weak attack of President Bush.

When Airforce One lands, I believe every flight has to circle the airport before the President is secure.

There are more evident ways to attack Bush, and this is one of the weaker points.

Doug, it's not an attack. It's a report of an ironic fact.

Brian Harris, they found decrepit shells from the Eighties. Those "weapons" are unusable, and they're not what we went to war for. As David Kay, the chief US weapons inspector, put it, "You probably have more dangerous chemicals under your sink."

And your analogy of Bush to Slay is downright silly. Bush actually sent troops to invade a country for weapons that did not exist. That soldier wouldn't have died if Bush had not made the conscious decision to send him into Iraq.

Simon was on the seen!

The CIA knew they would eventualy find the mustard gas shells because they sold them to Iraq.

Here are some examples of Sadams leadership

Got people to donate enough blood to write a whol copy of the Koran.

Went to war with Iran and Quate just so their could be a readon for national UNITY.

Had members of parlement killed right out side of the camber to maintain UNITY!

Remember weded a leader for UNITY in Iraq.

Simon was their.. and remember Simon-sez

BTW

Mr. Harris-

If you have the real info on why we are up in Iraq please share. Your coments on race relations have been so enlighting.

Star states: "If there is a hell, these two will be given the royal treatment there!" And what about the adulterer Jesse Jackson? Will he be there too? And Al Sharpton and Tawana Brawley trying to ruin someone's life with lies, will they be in hell too? Since the lies were against someone of another race, both are guilty of a hate crime.

Star, do you really believe you have a corner on an ability to eternally judge others? Why don't you leave that to God Who is omniscient and knows all even what's going on in your heart and mind as the rest of ours.

Star,

You brought up the subject of hell. If you are truly an atheist, you can't believe there is such a place to begin with.

I'm not a Bush fan, but I also do not believe any of us should have the audacity to judge where anyone else will spend their eternity, if it exists as you question.

Don't bring up religious connotations if you don't want discussion or debate. For an atheist, you're more judgmental than some fanatical religious people.

Many of us don't believe we should be in Iraq while many others do. But we refrain from going overboard in deciding the afterlife fate of those involved. Gee, where could Hitler or Stalin be today? Just quietly and peacefully nonexistant after inflicting so much grief and harm on so many?

Star, just a quote from Isaac Asimov: "I expect death to be nothingness and, for removing me from all possible fears of death, I am thankful to atheism. ~ Isaac Asimov

Now there's a true atheist. Gee, it occurs to me that to be an atheist one might as well do whatever one wants because in the end there is neither punishment nor reward. Pol Pot probably thought this too when he killed his millions.

Bashir of the Sudan probably feels nothing will happen to him either as black Muslims, Christians, and animists are slaughtered.

Yep, your creed sure gives one a hoot--no justce after all. But also, no mercy.

Star, first it is obvious you are ignorant of world and ancient history. Then it becomes evident you are ignorant of history relating to Indians of the Americas and their savagery toward one another, almost annihilating whole tribes.

Wow! You really don't know much about the history of Islam, do you? How do you think Islam was spread? By the sword of which they will tell you they are proud.

And do you really think atheists have done no harm? You need to read about Stalin and Pol Pot. Your understanding of the history of mankind seems to be spectacularly selective, i.e., you chose what you want to believe based on your biases.

There is probably no race nor ethnic group of people on this earth (I would like to say God's good earth) that hasn't the guilt of bloodshed on its hands and history. You just need to read and study more widely and without prejudice to gain just a glimpse at the truth.

As for your statement if there is a hell there will be a royal treatment for Bush and Cheney, if you don't believe it don't even say it or use it. It's hypocritical on your part.

Lastly, whether the President is Democrat or Republican and arriving to St. Louis, there would have been a hold up for other planes. I was at Soulard Market when Clinton came to St. Louis and the market. The Secret Service wentthrough my cart of fruits and vegetables. And he wasn't even president yet.

Star (that's an illuminating name), add a little light to your life by letting go of so much hatred and prejudice.

Star, you resort to name calling without knowing anything about the person you are calling a name. A "sheep?" Give me a break. I'm an independent thinker that has allegiance to no party.

Does America have faults? Yes, and what nation doesn't? Are we hated in the rest of the world? Yes, by some, but not by all. Millions were saved only because America was there. Bosnia is Muslim. Did any Muslim nation come to its aid? No. We did. Another reason we are hated is because of envy. Yes, there's a lot of jealousy out there. We are declining, but we remain the nation with the highest living standard for the most people. What other nation can boast that.

Star, if anyone is a "sheep," it is you because you are shackled by your narrowminded biases and hatreds. You are the least free of anyone on this blog.
