SPOTTED: Bill McClellan, Icon

By Antonio D. French

Filed Friday, April 28, 2006 at 1:54 PM

First radio host DJ Wilson mentioned seeing one on his way to host "Collateral Damage" on KDHX 88.1 FM last week. Then we received these images in our email inbox.

Has Post-Dispatch columnist Bill McClellan become the Che Guevara of south St. Louis liberalism?

Don't ask us. Ask "Bill McClellan motherfuckers!"

Interesting that the stencil artists would be appropriating the name and image of McClellan, not known for political consistency, as an icon of radicalism.

Thanks for the notice Antonio.

Bill McClellan Motherfuckers ask only for some common decency and respect from our government officials. We're fed up with an administration so disdainful of those it governs: they're either after our wallets or our homes, and would rather ignore us then care to give us a voice.

We're not politically radical by any stretch, just politically mindful citizens with a sloppy and semi-articulate talent for expressing our digust with local politics, much like Mr. McClellan.

Bill McClellan isn't "semi-articulate." Plain spoken, perhaps. Semi-articulate? I don't think that's possible. Either you are or you are not. It's like being tall. Or punk.
