Bosley Recall Petition Turned In

By Antonio D. French

Filed Friday, June 30, 2006 at 5:22 PM

THIS JUST IN...

Sources tell PUB DEF that at about 4:45 p.m., Citizens to Recall Aldermen Bosley turned in their petitions to the St. Louis Board of Elections.

Developing...

UPDATE: We interviewed Debra Gordon, of Citizens to Recall Bosley, yesterday before a contentious ward meeting at Clay Elementary School. We asked her about a rumor we heard that signatures would be turned in this week. At that time, she declined to comment. Tonight, Gordon confirmed that signatures were indeed turned in. And while she would not tell us how many signatures her group submitted, she did say it was "well over" the 1,400 required to put the question to the voters.

Ok, I've lost my scorecard somewhere along the way. So, Bauer was recalled. The petitions for Bosley have been turned in. The petitions for Florida are circulating, as are the petitions for Roddy. Am I missing anyone here?

Travis, you should be happy.

Its about time the citizenry of St. Louis woke up and realized that many of their problems are the result of the political leadership.

The time for the old regime is coming to an end.

These are historical times, and I couldn't be happier at this point.

Doug:

My question was in earnest. Are there others currently facing recalls that I missed?

Travis, there is also talk of a recall in April Ford-Griffin's 5th Ward, but I have no idea how serious the signature-gathering effort has been.

BTW, congrats on being Ald. Dorothy Kirner's "honored guest" at this morning's board meeting.

This was my first time at a Board meeting, and I was humbled by the experience. And, Ald. Kirner was nice enough to recognize me, and even offered me a cookie (from Dad's Cookies, of course).

It is about time that they recalled Bosley Sr. He has done nothing but hurt the 3rd Ward.

Congrats to those invloved in the Bosley recall effort. I agree 100% with their stance.

Antonio, do you have a contact # for Debra Gordon or Citizens to Recall Bosley?

The Arch City Chronicle is reporting that 2,040 signatures were turned in on Friday just before 5 PM, and that the Alderman has until July 10, to refute any signatures via affidavit. Only 1,466 signatures are need prove valid for the campaign to have been successful.

Bosley will never be recalled. And I heard that Jeff Harden (Who almost beat bosley this last election), has a police record as long as Grand Ave. His seniority means somthing. Peole in the 3rd ward need to take care of their own home. Bosley is not the reason you do not paint your house, cut your grass or fix up your house. People take responsibility for your own actions.
